The Basic 'Must Haves'

I just wanted to give a rough idea on the staple 'must haves'  that you need in your pantry. Apart from the obvious Salt, Pepper and Sugar we need to stock up on many unique ingredients that form the basis of the exquisite Indian Cuisine. There is no way you can create a delicious  dish without the flavorful, fragrant and colorful spices. So lets start there. Whole spices are a must have. Freshly roasting and then grinding them each time when required ensures you get the most flavor from them in your dish. Some of them can are available in the powdered form from stores. These are handy especially if you are pressed for time or find yourself busy. Hey Everyone!! Thank you so much for stopping by.  To tell you why I started this blog, I must first tell you a bit about me. All my life I have enjoyed the luxury of having my mom cook and feed me her amazing food. Never have I ever stepped into the kitchen even to take a glass of water for myself. Yup, I'm really embarrassed to admit it but it's the truth. And while I made no effort to help my mom out in the kitchen, my mom too decided to let me stay a baby even when I got into my twenties. Then one fine day I met the man with whom I could see my future with - George. We decided to get married and it all felt like a wonderful dream. And yes, you might have guessed it. It was the kitchen that brought me back to reality. For the first time I regretted not knowing how to cook. George was very supportive though. He knew a fair bit of cooking himself.
